Hi, my name is amberspiral
Everyone dreams of having a perfect life and if you are like me you have read books, gone to classes and seminars, studied in college and worked to have the life of your dreams.
I have been meditating for 40 years. I tried on several religions over those years, coming to realize that meditation is a common theme in many traditions. It does not matter what spiritual beliefs a person may have, everyone can benefit from cultivating even the smallest practice of meditation. It can assist you to manage stress, improve your health and to have a secure, safe place within you always. It has seen me through bad times and the good- which can be just as challenging... who knew?
As I was searching for the perfect spiritual path to join/follow my marriage fell apart. That sent me to therapy and on a quest in the self help aisles of bookstores and libraries to answer the question...what went wrong? As i pondered this question, I developed a some thoughts that later became MAPp.
MAPp was my answer and road of recovery. MAPP is mindfulness, acceptance and positive projection and it became my mantra, a meditation in action, as I practiced in solitude for more than 14 years, raised a son and went about recreating my life.
Mindfulness is being present in this moment and remembering that it is the only moment there is.
Acceptance is coming to terms with things just as they are and remembering not to struggle- if you have to struggle it's probably not right for you. Work is OK, struggle is not.
Positive projection has 2 meanings: 1) putting a positive spin on my interactions with others because we can never know what a person is really thinking. I give them the benefit of doubt until or unless they prove me wrong. And 2) using visualizations and affirmations to create my life. Although we are mindful and accepting we can always take a proactive stance in our lives. Positive projections keep us focused and on track.
MIA is another meme that I developed that means Meditation, intention and altar. These are principles to to make your positive projections more effective.
Over the years I have continued to use and deepened my understanding of MAPp and MIA. I invite you to try them.
MAPp is the light I use to guide my path. MIA is the tool I use for making my dreams reality.
This is where my journey has taken me and I plan to keep on exploring and growing until my last breath.
I would love to share my adventures with you.
namaste (I honor the light within you/ within me) and blissings, amberspiral
